BACKGROUND:
Since launching in 2016, the CanExport program has provided financial support to over 1,400 SME-led market diversification projects in 110 countries. Building on this foundation, the 2018 Fall Economic Statement committed $100 million in additional incremental funding to help CanExport expand its reach and better support Canadian SMEs aiming for new export markets. This investment along with updated guidelines make CanExport an essential tool for small and medium Canadian firms looking toward new international markets.  
EXPERT PRESENTER:
Taraneh Bayat-Mokhtari (B.A. Psychology, University of Ottawa, 2008) is a Senior Officer at Global Affairs Canada, specializing in outreach and marketing for the CanExport program. Prior to this, Ms. Bayat-Mokhtari worked in communications, project management and event planning for government and the non-profit sector in Beijing (China), Dakar (Senegal) and Cape Town (South Africa).

an overview of the CanExport program updated eligibility criteria and,strategies for a successful application
