CAMM IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
As the national association that represents the Canadian mold making industry, we recognize the challenge that our industry faces in regards to skilled labour.

As you may have already heard, Executive Director Nicole Vlanich, in collaboration with the Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce and Ontario Chamber of Commerce, have brought mold making one step away from being considered a Red Seal trade in the province of Ontario – but this is only one step to addressing a larger issue.
Last week, CAMM was pleased to announce a large scale project within which we are developing online and virtual reality training, virtual reality simulations and youth focused initiatives to engage youth into the trades, a significant marketing campaign to remove misconceptions about the trade and make mold making the focus of individuals looking for good, well paying, high tech careers, the expansion of Manufacturing Day to Manufacturing Month where we will visit Ontario high schools throughout the month of October highlighting our sector, host a number of events to engage apprentices, offer train the trainer training to increase the number of trainers available who can then subsequently increase the number of apprentices AND offer financial supports including wage subsidies up to $5,000, wage stipends up to $5,000 and wraparound supports including transportation and child care assistance, relocation assistance and tool assistance. We are also creating a new website and tool for our industry. This new information hub, resource center and capabilities map will provide the data and information needed for individuals looking for career information, such as salaries and career pathways, industry data and research and a comprehensive capabilities map that will show the capabilities of Ontario mold makers, job and apprenticeship openings and more!
