The Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (Sept. 25-28) is the country’s largest show dedicated to the manufacturing sector.
For more than 40 years, the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS) audience, which comes from within Canada’s leading industries, such as the aerospace, automotive, energy, and industrial and commercial machinery sectors, has convened to source equipment and gain knowledge from global leaders in machine tools and tooling, metalworking equipment, and advanced manufacturing technology.
Innovation, networking, and displays of manufacturing equipment will set the stage for the upcoming CMTS. The show brings together technology suppliers that will present new equipment, practices, and industry connections to attendees.
CMTS Set for September
Set for Sept. 25-28 at Toronto Congress Centre, CMTS is the biggest event of its kind nationwide.
Held every two years, the tradeshow is widely known for being one of Canada’s main manufacturing events. It provides new networking and interactive experiences for visitors, along with opportunities to attend high-level technical sessions and keynote presentations from industry experts.
Visitors will see the latest in machine tools, tooling, as well as advanced manufacturing technologies, including additive manufacturing, automation, and robotics.
Attendees will not only be able to witness innovative manufacturing technologies, they’ll also get a hands-on learning experience. Exhibitors will showcase advanced manufacturing tools such as composites, metals and advanced materials, contract manufacturing services, digital and additive manufacturing, integrated assembly, and robotics. Visitors also will get to see the largest side-by-side comparison of live, working equipment in Canada.
The exposure to innovative technology at CMTS can inspire shop owners to explore ways to integrate these innovations into their production processes. Shop owners can witness the potential benefits of adopting advanced machinery and tools, making them more inclined to invest in these technologies. Better equipment leads to enhanced productivity, quality, and efficiency, contributing to cost savings and increased competitiveness.
“CMTS and its live technology offerings play a pivotal role in a manufacturer’s decision-making process that goes beyond what websites or product catalogues can provide,” said Arjun Hajela, group manager, events (Canada) at SME. “At CMTS, manufacturers have the unique opportunity to interact directly with products and technologies. They can touch, feel, and evaluate these innovations, gaining a deeper understanding of their features, functionalities, and quality. This tactile experience allows decision-makers to assess the ergonomics, build quality, and user-friendliness of the machines, leading to more confident purchasing decisions.”
Real-time demonstrations allow manufacturers to see the technology in action, enabling them to visualize how it seamlessly integrates into their existing processes and operations. Watching machines perform tasks in real-world scenarios provides valuable insights into efficiency, speed, and overall performance.
Engaging with experts and peers can lead to unexpected synergies, collaborative opportunities, and access to valuable industry knowledge. It also allows for immediate feedback and query resolution.
“Manufacturers can engage with product representatives and experts directly during the event, receiving instant answers to queries and clarifications that lead to more informed decision-making,” said Hajela. “Having experts on-site to address specific concerns and tailor solutions to the manufacturer’s needs is invaluable in the decision-making process.”
CMTS also offers a one-stop platform for manufacturers to compare multiple products side by side. This comprehensive comparison helps in making well-informed choices and staying ahead in a competitive market. By observing different machines in action, attendees can evaluate performance, durability, and versatility.
The new venue for the show—the Toronto Congress Centre—allows for a new layout and fresh surroundings, attracting both new and returning visitors to explore the event.
“The sense of novelty fosters a more engaging and immersive experience, making the event even more memorable for attendees,” said Hajela. “The venue is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure, which will enhance the overall event experience. Advanced audio/visual systems, interactive displays, and high-speed internet connectivity will facilitate seamless interactions between exhibitors and attendees, promoting a more engaging and dynamic experience.”
New at CMTS 2023, the floor layout has changed from a more fragmented approach to a more cohesive one.
The Toronto Congress Centre also is known for great food, always serving up restaurant-quality experiences and selecting local area ingredients with the highest safety standards. The team at the Toronto Congress Centre offers unique menus and high-quality meals and Chef Mark McEwan helps ensure a distinct catering experience, providing attendees with a diverse selection of food and beverage choices.
