GUEST SPEAKER: NOUR HACHEM FAWAZ, President and Founder of Build a Dream

Nour Hachem Fawaz: A Dynamic Leader Challenging the Status Quo

With over two decades of extensive experience as a workforce advisor, mentor, and influencer, Nour Hachem Fawaz stands out as an inspiration for entrepreneurs everywhere. Her journey, deeply rooted in challenging societal norms, began with witnessing her mother’s tenacity in establishing a successful auto parts company in a predominantly male-driven industry. This early exposure to resilience and determination laid the foundation for Nour’s mission to change how the world views women’s roles within society.

A proud woman of colour, born in Lebanon and raised in Canada, Nour’s narrative is one of ambition, grit, and unwavering passion. Her academic achievements are a testament to her dedication. Having earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Windsor, Nour didn’t stop there. While expanding the reach of Build a Dream across Canada, she completed her Masters in Business Administration, all while raising children, continuously evolving as a professional and driving significant impact advocating for women in male-dominated sectors. Among her many recognitions, being named one of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada by WXN in 2022 stands out, showcasing her significant influence in the professional world.

Build a Dream is not just an organization; it’s Nour’s vision brought to life. As a national non-profit, it aims to empower young women to venture into careers they might have never considered in male-dominated sectors such as, Skilled Trades, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Entrepreneurship, and Leadership. Build a Dream‘s approach emphasizes the need to address internal biases before making significant external changes.

Nour’s skills extend beyond her roles as a leader and influencer. With expertise in Business Development, Corporate Communications, Keynote Speaking, Strategic Planning, and Leadership, she is a force to be reckoned with. Drawing from her own journey and experiences, Nour’s message remains consistent: challenge the status quo, believe in your dreams, and make a positive impact on the world.
