Following the initial massive drop in economic activity back in spring 2020, Canadian businesses and consumers appear to have adjusted their operations and habits with each successive wave of COVID-19 cases. While economic activity has risen and ebbed following each lockdown stage, the latest fall in economic activity due to Omicron-related restrictions was minimal, compared to the Delta wave. As the restrictions continue to ease, the CERT has risen considerably with economic activity picking up.
